I went to the Tim O'Brien speech last night.
There were a lot of people who were of different ages in the Stubblefield
center. He is famous in the United States. He is a novelist and he published
books. He introduced himself. I almost didn’t understood what he said and I
don’t understand yet. I could understand each of the words. I think he talked
about patriotism, his book, his family and
maybe the Vietnam War. He told us a
story about his kids. His book is called The Things They Carried. He was sent
to Vietnam and he took part in war. He is still not sure if going to the war
was right to do. He said “I’m not used to speaking in public.” But I think he
is used to speaking in public! Many people laughed at his speech. I can’t
understand why people laughed. So I want to be able speak well like him.
