I’m going to explain to polite mean in my
culture. I think polite have many means in Japan. I use honorific words when I talk
with superior and elder. If I use too casual way of speaking when we talk with superior
and elder, it is so rude and people think that I have bad manners. On the other
hand, I think English haven’t honorific words, I don’t need honorific English
all people. So Japan is so strict than America. Other example, In Japan many
people use a train and bus. I use a train every day in japan. I set my seat in
the train, after that a elderly woman came and stood in front of me, so I gave
seat to that elderly woman. I don’t know what that act is ordinary in another
country, but it is ordinary act in japan. I think almost Japanese have
consideration, and I call like this action “Japanese spirit” so I think “Japanese
sprit” is polite in japan.
