blog assignment #19 by Akari

Listening other person quiet, showing respect for a senior person are big mean to be polite in my country, Japan. I think it's important thing. Japanese are polite I think. Japanese are quiet, priority over other people,I think it's mean to be polite too. However,to be polite in Japan are different from America. When Japanese listen to other people quiet,American people's think Japanese are shy maybe. I think Japanese are shy exactly but it's because of being polite mean in Japan. Also, not to be KY person is mean to be polite in Japan. KY means that person who can't read between the line, feel out the situation, get with the program. If there were KY person in Japan, people would say "just think where you are now "and ,KY person was thought not polite person by othe person. To pay attention various situation is important polite manner in japan.

  1. The word "KY" represents Japanese culture very well. Japanese people tend to think other people can read the mind without saying. In the US, completely opposite. The way of thinking is very different between Japan and US.
