When American
people talk with somebody face to face, they look into each eyes. Most of
Japanese people do not like this. I think it is all because our personality
which is shy. If I do not do that in the US, American people will think “Oh, he
is not interested in me. He do not like to talk with me.” To keep my eyes is
very important as I talk with somebody.
Another, what I think it is a bad manner is participation.
For example, when American students take a class, they participate in the class
very hard. However, in Japan, I did not really talk a lot while I was taking class.
Also, others too. So, in America, I think that not to participate in a class is
the bad manner. Students have to take a class seriously.
Eye contact is a very important part of communication in the U.S.
