Today's theme is American vs Japanese culture.I will talk about Japanese New Year. In Japan,It is very important that celebrate New Year.Everybody celebrates it every year.We pounding mochi in new year holiday.There are home to cook Mochi by machine and to cook mochi by oneself.At that time,they use the tool.We called it Usu and Kine.It is hard work.After to make mochi,we display a mochi,and eat.There are a lot of kinds of the taste.For example,Anko( red bean paste ),Kinako (soybean flour),Natto etc.It is very delicious.We pay a visit to a Shinto shrine or temple.In New year,there is Hakone Ekiden.Ekiden are long distance road relays.Hakone Ekiden is very famous in Japan.The runner of Hakone Ekiden is university students.They are so cool.I look forward to it every year.Japan has a lot of traditional culture.It is very important.
